How did you come to work at maurices?
I had interviewed for the Trend Manager position before Maurices was bought by Dress Barn. Since they were unsure of what the future held, we sort of put it on hold. Fast forward a couple of years, I check the website and see that the position was open again. I called Jeanne Kucera and asked her if she remembered me and she said, “I can’t believe you called, you are on my list of people to contact!” Three weeks later, I had a new job.
What music gets you going?
I like a lot of different kinds of music, so it is more specific songs that get me going- they remind me of a certain time and place, and bring back fond memories. If I hear “Sweet Dreams Are Made of This” by The Eurythmics I know it will be a good day.
Where do you love traveling for your job? Or traveling for personal?
I love going to Florence, Italy for work (hint, hint) and London. For personal travel my first choice is always the ocean, any ocean!
What or who has been an important influence in your life?
Besides my parents, I had a couple of high school teachers that were very special to me, and I have a close group of friends that I have know my whole life that keep me sane.
What’s your favorite thing to do in Duluth? (seeing as we’re such a “hot spot”)
I love looking at all of the big old houses and the half price bottle of wine nights at the local restaurants.
What’s on your bucket list?
Renting a house on Tybee Island, GA
Going to the Hermitage Museum in St. Petersburg, Russia
Tell us a little about your day-to-day job.

Reading anything good these days?
I’ve been reading Louise Erdich books lately- just finished “The Roundhouse”
Who makes up your family? (Significant other? Kids? Pets? Parents? Plants? Whomever you’d like to mention)
Well, almost everyone has heard about my dog, Buster, who keeps things interesting at home, and I am great aunt to a couple of cute kids named Julia and Jack- (they are cousins, not twins). I appreciate their cuteness much more than I did their parents’!
