Back 2 Basics

People are always asking what are the essentials that everyone needs in their closets; therefore, I’ve made a little guide to bring you all back to the basics!

Cardigans, leather jackets, classic blazers, and denim jackets are all perfect layering pieces. They can change any outfit. Along with, a clean white button up, denim shirt, and flannels. There are so many combinations with these key pieces it can become overwhelming! I usually come up with a new way to wear each piece every time I pull one of these items out of my closet. Think of all the possibilities! Basic layering tanks are also key. For me, one in every color is critical. {TIP: find a basic layering tank you really LOVE and stick to it!} Riding boots go with anything. From skirts to dresses to jeggings…get them in classic colors {black and brown}. Read more about how to wear tall riding boots here. A Little Black Dress {L.B.D} is an item that belongs in every woman’s closet! This classic piece can be dressed up {add a classic pump and blazer, or classic cardigan} or down {pair with jean jacket, flannel, denim shirt, long sweater, or leather jacket}. A scarf is another versatile piece that can do wonders to any outfit. Wear it around your neck, in your hair, or as a belt! Watch how to tie a scarf here.  Belts are important! Get a few of your favorite basic colors. A black satchel is a great every day bag to make sure you have handy! Make sure you have your closet stocked with a couple pairs of pumps {neutral and black} along with a pair of flats! Hoop earrings are a great simple go to for any look. You’re three most important pair of bottoms: neutral, fitted skinny denim, and black leggings.
